When I first started learning with Ms. Joan, English was difficult for me, especially reading and writing. But her patience and special teaching ways changed how I felt about learning. She didn’t just talk in our lessons. She let me talk a lot, asked me questions that made me think, and used interesting things like Irish stories, poems, and podcasts. Because of her, I’m more confident in English now. My writing is better, I can understand reading more easily, and I’m not afraid to speak English anymore.

I am fourty eight years old and I am an accountant.I have been wanting to improve my English for some time. I dream of being able to speak and write English well. A few months ago I meet Joan McDermortt. I have class online, once a week and I am very happy. Every class I learn a new thing. She knows exactly what I need to learn, since the more basics to more complicated. I read text, I practice vocabulary and grammar. I was finding english in 5th year quite difficult and i took a lesson with Joan before my summer exams as i didn’t understand the language and the way the questions are written, she went through sample answers with me and widened my understanding of the vocabulary used in the questions and answers. Joan is a great teacher and she is a friendly person. I felt she pushed me to try harder as she could tell my ability is greater and it made me feel more confident about it.
